Multi gen living

As we reach the end of an incredible year, all of us at Uplifts are taking a moment to look back with pride and gratitude.

2025 has been a transformative year where our commitment to British manufacturing, inclusive design, and thoughtful home mobility solutions has reached new heights. It has been a year characterised by national recognition and exciting partnerships with groundbreaking research and inspiring conversations with homeowners, occupational therapists, and industry leaders. This has been a year defined by meaningful progress.

Most importantly, it has been a year shaped by people. We want to say a heartfelt thank you to our customers, our partners, and our passionate team. Uplifts exists to give people confidence, dignity and freedom at home, and every milestone we’ve achieved this year reflects that mission.

March: Made in Britain and the Ideal Home Show

March marked a major milestone for Uplifts, a moment that not only celebrated our heritage but also showcased our vision for the future.

Proudly awarded the prestigious Made in Britain Accreditation

In March, we were honoured to receive the ‘Made in Britain’ accreditation, a respected marque that unites and promotes the very best of British manufacturing. For us, this recognition carries deep significance.

Manufactured at our Andover facility and led by sixth-generation Stannah family member Sam Stannah, Uplifts has reimagined what modern home mobility can be. Receiving this accreditation just nine months after launching our flagship homelift was a powerful acknowledgement of the craftsmanship, innovation and pride that go into every product we build.

Our through-the-floor homelift, which is powered by a standard plug, requires minimal structural work and is designed to complement contemporary homes, representing everything this accreditation stands for. It’s built for real life, crafted with care, and reflects more than 150 years of British engineering heritage.

A standout first appearance at the Ideal Home Show

March also saw Uplifts make a standout first appearance at the Ideal Home Show, marking our debut at the UK’s longest-running home design event.

Across more than two weeks at London Olympia, our stand became a vibrant meeting point for homeowners, designers, occupational therapists and curious visitors alike. With live demonstrations, expert consultations, and exclusive show offers, visitors were able to see and use the S2 homelift and discover its transformational potential.

The wonderful Lesley Joseph joined us as her iconic character, Dorien Green. She helped challenge outdated perceptions around ageing and inspire more people to embrace future-ready home design, delighting visitors and drawing huge crowds to the stand. Joined on stage by CEO Sam Stannah, she spoke about independence, ageing confidently and why future-ready homes matter more than ever.

We also heard from occupational therapist Kate Sheehan and customer Andy Scott, who shared real stories about the difference a homelift can make.

Thank you to everyone who visited us. If you missed the show, you can still explore our range, request a brochure, or speak to our team anytime.

June: Celebrating Sam Stannah in The Manufacturer Top 100

One of the standout moments of 2025 came when our CEO, Sam Stannah, was named in the Manufacturer Top 100, which is a prestigious list recognising the most inspiring leaders shaping the future of UK industry.

Sam being included reflects his vision for Uplifts as well as the long-standing Stannah family commitment to British engineering and innovation. The judges highlighted his ability to blend 150-plus years of experience with a bold, design-first approach to modern home mobility.

For the whole team, this recognition was a proud moment and a powerful reminder of why we do what we do: to rethink what accessible living can look like and to set new standards for quality and innovation within British manufacturing.

August: Multi-generational research

In August, we took an important step in deepening our understanding of how families live today by commissioning a multi-generational living study with researcher Prabash Nageswaran. As more households look to create flexible, shared spaces that work for every age and stage of life, this research is helping us uncover what people really need from their homes, both now and in the future.

Most importantly, the study reinforces something we see every day: a homelift isn’t just a mobility solution, it’s a way to bring families together, support independence, and create homes that adapt gracefully over time.

This project marks the start of a long-term commitment to evidence-led design, ensuring Uplifts remains at the forefront of thoughtful, future-ready home innovation.

October: Grand Designs Live and a bold new design collaboration

October saw Uplifts take centre stage at Grand Designs Live in Birmingham, where our homelift was installed in the spectacular Grand House hallway. This gave thousands of visitors the chance to experience it in a real home setting. The reaction was fantastic, with many surprised by how seamlessly the lift blended into a contemporary interior.

A major highlight was our new partnership with Ayisha Onuorah, the award-winning interior designer from BBC’s Interior Design Masters. Ayisha created an exclusive fabric for Uplifts, proving that accessibility products can be both functional and genuinely beautiful. Her design became a talking point of the entire show.

Across the weekend, our team led a series of packed-out talks on topics including 'Design with Dignity', 'Bold Design with Purpose', and 'Designing for Multi-Generational Living', all reinforcing our belief that good design should support independence without compromise.

November: Awards season success and innovation recognised at The OT Show

November was a standout month of recognition for Uplifts. We were honoured to be shortlisted at The Manufacturers' Awards in the product innovation and design category. It is a meaningful acknowledgement from one of the UK’s most respected manufacturing bodies. It reflected the hard work behind creating a homelift that is not only technically advanced but genuinely life-changing for users.

The momentum continued at the OT show, where Uplifts proudly took home the Innovation Award. Judges praised our thoughtful approach to real-world mobility challenges, highlighting features such as the minimal floor lip for wheelchair users and the emphasis on emotional as well as practical independence.

Louis and Kate also led well-attended talks at the show, diving into how design, functionality, and user insight come together to shape a homelift that truly supports people’s lives.

Looking ahead to 2026: A year of smarter, more personalised living

As we move into 2026, Uplifts is preparing to launch some of our most exciting innovations yet. Early in the year, we’ll be introducing a suite of new features designed to give homeowners even more choice and control, including a full-height door option, smart controller technology, and thoughtful additions like coat hooks and bench seating to make every journey feel effortless. We’re also expanding our range of coloured wood trims to help the lift blend seamlessly into any interior style.

Building on the success of our collaboration with Ayisha Onuorah, we’ll unveil an entirely new fabric collection, complete with coordinating items such as lampshades. These additions transform a homelift from a practical necessity into a genuine design statement.

And in March, we’ll be returning to the Ideal Home Show with an even more immersive experience, showcasing these new enhancements and the next generation of Uplifts customisation.

A heartfelt Christmas message

As we wrap up an incredible year, we want to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who has been part of the Uplifts journey in 2025. To the customers who trusted us with their homes, the partners and occupational therapists who continue to collaborate with us, and the industry colleagues who champion better design for everyone, your support means the world.

Every home lift we install represents more than a product. It's independence regained, dignity protected and a home that truly supports the people who live in it. Being part of that story is a privilege we never take for granted.

We couldn’t be more excited for what 2026 will bring, from new features and customisation options to more opportunities to showcase how thoughtful design can make every home future-ready.

Thank you for being with us this year.

From all of us at Uplifts, we wish you a joyful Christmas and a wonderful New Year.

Stay connected with us, because the best is yet to come.
